P1 Definitions and examples of types of tourism AJW

In this page are all the definitions you will need to understand the Travel and Tourism industry. Here
  are the definitions of the following terms:

- Travel: Travel is the movement of people from one place to another using a variety of transport such by sea, by air or by land.
- Tourism: Tourism is when people visit destinations for a variety of different reasons such as a day trip, short or long holidays, business holidays or to visit family. Tourist always go away with the intention on returning home.  
- Domestic Tourism: Domestic Tourist are people who travel around their own country for either short breaks or day trips. For example, when a family from Manchester travel to Wales for the weekend to see family members.
- Inbound Tourism- This is when people from outside another country travel into a different country for variety reason. For example, when people from China travel into London to come and watch the Olympics to support their country.
- Outbound Tourism- This is when people travel away from the area they live and go and travel into a different country. For example, a bunch of English girls going on a girls holiday to Ibiza for 2 weeks.
